Basic Function
To provide administrative support to the Moorepark Food Research Centre.
Location
Teagasc Moorepark Campus is located on a 110 hectare site in North Cork, with a dedicated Food Research Centre, an extensive Animal and Grassland Research Facility, a Pig Production Development Facility, the National Food Innovation Hub (NFIH), a Food Biotest Unit and a pilot plant.
This role is primarily concerned with providing administration support to the Teagasc Food Research Centre and NFIH at Moorepark. The primary goal of the food Research Centre is dairy research and food for health. It has a proud history in the development of microbial cultures, new dairy ingredients and hybrid cheese varieties for dairy companies.
The NFIH is a center for innovation in the food industry. Here, Teagasc lease units to private clients for innovative works in the food industry.
The Role
This position will be part of a team of four administration staff and will report to the Campus Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for reception of the Food Research Centre incorporating the NFIH as well as providing administrative support as described below. The center hosts over 200 staff and students.

- Provide reception cover to the Moorepark Food Research Centre (MFRC). This role will provide reception cover for MFRC and act as POC for all clients and guests of the National Food Innovation Hub (NFIH).
- Manage NFIH client requests as required.
- Engage with NFIH clients regarding deliveries and collections.
- Manage booking of station vehicles as required.
- Manage booking of rooms and other resources, within Moorepark,
- Raise electronic requisitions on behalf of departmental staff within the MFRC.
- Facilitate the process of recruiting and administrating the induction of students and staff within the MFRC.
- Draft and prepare documents using MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Access.
- Provide organisational support in the running of departmental conferences and meetings.
- Organise travel and accommodation arrangements for departmental staff.
- Communicate issues with Teagasc staff and act as point of contact for public events as required.
- Act as the main point of contact for information requests or queries related to the MFRC.
- Work in close liaison with the Campus Operations Manager and the administration team at Moorepark to ensure a positive and co-operative working environment.
- To assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and Action Plan.
- To actively participate in the annual business planning and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes.
- Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations. This includes full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement.
