Background:
Teagasc is the national public body providing integrated research, advisory, education and training services to the Irish agri-food sector. It is a Development Agency of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. The Teagasc mission is to provide scientific leadership and support to Irish farmers and food companies in achieving a sustainable food system. The LiveNet project which commenced in January 2025, is a fixed term (five years) CSA-type (Co-ordination and Support Actions) project, funded under the Horizon Europe programme. There are 20 partners, including Teagasc. The main aim of the project is to establish and sustain an EU-wide network of livestock advisors, enhancing skills, capacity and long-term knowledge exchange practices. A key objective of the project is to collect, evaluate, analyse, adapt and translate innovative advisory practices for sustainable livestock production in a multi-actor setting in 29 European countries. These practices will be promoted within the network of livestock advisors through targeted knowledge exchange and scaling activities tailored to each country in the project. Teagasc is now seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator to manage the delivery of its project commitments.
