Background:
The Teagasc Moorepark Campus is a leading international research and innovation centre for the Irish agri-food sector, located in Fermoy, Co. Cork. The campus is home to world-class dairy, food, animal and grassland research facilities, supporting innovation, sustainability and technology transfer across the agriculture and food industries. Moorepark hosts a diverse campus community including researchers, technical staff, students, industry partners and visitors.
The Teagasc Moorepark Campus operates a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles and machines that support research and operational activities. Effective coordination is required to ensure all assets are safe, compliant, properly maintained and available when needed. The Fleet Coordinator conducts mechanical maintenance and oversees compliance and record management to support the safe and efficient operation of the Moorepark fleet.
Basic Function:
We are seeking to recruit a Campus Fleet Coordinator to maintain, coordinate, and oversee the operations of the Moorepark Transport Fleet, ensuring the provision of safe, efficient, and reliable transport services for the Moorepark Campus community.

- Carry out mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, fleet checking, and related duties. This will include agricultural and grounds keeping equipment.
- Lead and co-ordinate the daily issuing of transport for the campus.
- Liaise with suppliers in relation to repairs and maintenance of vehicles outside of scope of local resources.
- Manage vehicle taxation and coordinate scheduling and transport for NCT and DOE inspections.
- Liaise with Corporate Services in relation to incidents, accidents, insurance claims and vehicle valuations.
- Purchasing, disposal and trade in of vehicles as required.
- Maintenance of Station Transport database.
- Oversee the fuel management system and promote optimisation of energy efficient solutions e.g. using most efficient vehicles for each journey.
- Dealing with relevant authorities in relation to Fixed Charge Offences, Parking Fines etc.
- Complete Health & Safety Co-ordinator Duties or such other Health & Safety Duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- To assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and Action Plan.
- To actively participate in the annual business planning and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes.
- Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations. This includes full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement.
