Job Description
Basic Function
The Technologist will work on implementing, evaluating and coordinating the Living Laboratory approach for the TEDY project in Ireland, linking its activities to the wider EU network of TEDY Living Laboratories.
Background
The Agroecological Transition of the European Dairy Farming System project (TEDY) is a pioneering initiative that aims to lead the agroecological transition towards sustainability and resilience through the use of Agroecosystem Living Labs (ALLs) which serve as platforms for experimentation, data collection, and farmer empowerment, enabling the implementation and evaluation of agroecological interventions in real-world settings.
Job Objectives
- To support and facilitate collaboration with farmers, researchers, and stakeholders in the TEDY Living Laboratory in Ireland, assisting in the identification and implementation of agroecological practices under the guidance of senior project staff
- To assist senior researchers in maintaining connections with external research, extension, and policy actors, supporting data collection and information sharing activities to ensure project alignment
- To participate in collaborative activities with TEDY Living Laboratories across EU partner countries, supporting data sharing, good practice exchange, and coordinated field activities as directed by project leadership
- To contribute to the preparation of reports and deliverables based on Living Laboratory operations, including data compilation, field observations, and technical summaries to support senior researchers in meeting EU project requirements
- To assist in the preparation of communication materials and support the dissemination of project activities through farmer meetings, field days, and technical demonstrations
- To assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Quality Customer Service Charter and Action Plan
- To actively participate in the annual business planning and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes
- Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations. This includes full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

As this role will involve driving vehicles, candidates must satisfy and continue to satisfy during employment with Teagasc, legal requirements to drive a car unaccompanied on Irish public roads. |
